Clinton Suggests Further 'Temporary' Extension of Bush Tax Cuts

In another signal that the countries political players are seriously considering making the Bush Tax Cuts permanent, Bill Clinton has suggested that Obama make another temporary extension through next year in order to better negotiate a long term deal with Republicans on economic issues.

Although Clinton has no official role, his voice is still important in the Democratic Party and probably reflects the thinking of a lot higher ups in the party, including those in Obama's administration.

If Obama does decide to extend the tax cuts further into next year, it'll mean that this can has been kicked further down the road. With the majority of the Bush tax cuts originally set to sunset at the end of 2010, it looks highly likely that they'll be here well past 2013.
