Tax Credits Available to Help Make Your House More Energy Efficient This Winter
Homeowners will be able to take a tax credit of 30% of repairs made to help winterize their homes in 2009 and 2010, up t0 $1500. What's great about this credit is that will help you save money twice by also helping to allow you to make your home more energy efficient, which means smaller electricity and gas bills. This credit is seperate from the Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit in which a homeowner can take a credit on 30% of what they spend on overall energy efficient improvements like solar electric systems, solar water heaters and wind turbines. Before making these improvements, it's important that you check to make sure that the repairs are qualified under the program, which you can here.
